Achingly Delicious & Spicy Chocolate “Pot-de-Crème”

It’s been a month since the blog celebrated its first ever birthday. It’s been two months since I felt like experiencing a deep change. All my day-to-day events, whether these are enriching or disturbing, feel like being in total harmony, lining up in my life like tiny soldiers. Even the darkest ones do have their place in that happiness equation. Did I need to pass some kind of “one year” milestone? Am I accepting my life, its ups and downs, and all its surprises, much more than before? I don’t know. What I know for sure though is that life is beautiful, and that I’ll announce all those amazing things to you as soon as possible.

Chocolate & Raspberry Nicecream Swirl

I’ve been feeling quite weird this weekend. Maybe it’s all about the rainy weather. The rain drops knocking on my windowpanes. The carrion crows flirting with my doubts and fears, trying to destabilise what’s left of my inner harmony. The wind, swirling round like a mighty being, making me cold and yet powerful, as if I could control it all. I’ve been trying to organise my life, plan my future and find out what the reality could be behind all those dreams. Maybe this was the root of my anxiety. Or the fact that the perfectionist inside of me has constantly been comparing himself with other, allegedly better than him. However, the best is an undefined notion. It does not exist. Well, guess what. The person who’s writing down those lines is not the perfectionist one. It is the dreamy, ambitious, brave and achiever one. The one that wants to climb mountains, to achieve his dreams and embody the change he wants to see in this world. And it feels great! Finding the strength to change …

Festive Chocolate Cake with a Hazelnut Frosting

Don’t you feel like these days are the worst of the entire year? You’ve celebrated Christmas with your families and friends, eaten way over your belly capacity, received wonderful presents – books, clothes, unidentified objects or money – as well as touching words & wishes, all of this with glitter on your face and dancing shoes on your feet. And now what? We’re crawling out of bed, wearing sunglasses to hide our lack of sleep, walking (and not tiptoeing) with a coffee in one hand and a glass of lemon water in the other, trying to flush out all the dirt we’ve accumulated in out bodies, crying because we’re not being offered gifts anymore, waiting for it to start all over again on New Year’s Eve. (Well ok, I am pushing things a little too far, but I am sure every one of us felt at least one of these things haha!).

Best Sweet-Treat of Them All: Date Caramel Shortbread Squares

It might be because my home has been surrounded for fog for the past week, or that the temperature seems to be lowering down a little more every day, but I do not really feel like cooking savoury meals these days. The sole thing I am looking forward to whenever coming back home is curling up in my sofa, with a warm tea and something to satisfy my sweet tooth (a huge piece of something though!). Thus, my fridge and cupboards are filled with sweet treats and desserts, which I have the pleasure to enjoy by myself since my parents are not really into those… It’s been a week since being back from my short but amazing weekend in London, and apart from the serenity and peace I cultivated away from my home and routine, I brought back some amazing sweets in my luggage. Livia’s Kitchen’s shortbread millionaire bites are simple, natural and delicious snacks that you can bring with you wherever you go and enjoy at any time of the day (that because they …

Cacao Chia Pudding & Raspberry Cream

Chocolate and raspberry has always been my favourite combination. I do not know how to explain it, since my entire family seem not to be approving, but this is just it; whether this is in brownies, cakes, chocolate bars or basically any type of healthy food that mixes both…well I am in heaven! After one of my numerous scrolls on Instagram, I spotted many different pictures involving these ingredients and I directly thought that it might be a good idea to share my very own recipe… First thing on the following morning for me has been to run to my kitchen and start putting ingredients together, tasting, failing, waiting, trying again, decorating, and shooting… the whole recipe making process. In the end, after a successful recipe trial and taking many shots I was very proud of, I ended up eating both glasses, which is something that was not planned at all but so incredibly delicious.

The Ice Queens – Chocolate Fudgesicles

Ice cream has always been a key snack and dessert in my childhood. I can easily remember those hot summer days where I would simply put my hand into the freezer and feed on these decadent chocolate, vanilla and caramel flavoured ice cream, whether they were store-bought or traditionally made. However, they did contain a lot of refined sugar, cream and ingredients I no longer want to swallow. Now that the warm weather seemed to have cast its massive and boiling veil over us, I felt like revisiting these amazingly refreshing childhood ice creams, but with a healthy twist this time. And believe me, they will feel like a relief in the sweltering heat! These popsicles are so delightfully creamy and insanely rich and tasty, you would not believe what’s happening to you when
